Has the term 'Science Policy' failed to capture your interest? Speakers in this symposium will help illustrate how Science Policy is a part of many careers, in some obvious and some less-than-obvious ways. We hope to spark your interest in Science Policy by sharing career paths and experiences from many different perspectives. During my time as a graduate student, I found many of ESA's opportunities to be exciting and inspiring - but when it came to the Science Policy Program or other opportunities with direct and obvious Science Policy influence, it just didn't seem for me. Flash forward to 6 years post-grad, the two roles I've had as a professional entomologist are heavily influenced by Science Policy. The kicker? I love it! We invite you to hear from many different entomologists, some who have participated as Science Policy Fellows, all who have careers steeped in Science Policy. If you've had little interest in Science Policy, we hope you leave today's Symposium excited about the possibility of Science Policy being a part of your career - if you've always been drawn to Science Policy and how it interacts with careers in entomology, we hope to confirm your suspicions.
