Widespread insecticide resistant has been reported in Cimex lectularius and C. hemipterus and studies continue to understand better the prevalence of this phenomenon across the world. This talk will present information on molecular and metabolic resistance from samples collected in Colombia, the USA, Spain and China. A Total of 67 samples of C. lecturius and 35 of C. hemipterus were analyzed. Eighty percent of the C. lectularius samples had some mutations on the VGSC gene. All C. hemipterus presented mutations in the interlinker II-III of the VGSC gene. Some silent mutations were detected in the nAChR and alpha subunit in both strains.
