Hydrogenated catmint oil (HCO) is an EPA-approved plant-based insect repellent active ingredient, highly effective against mosquitoes, biting flies and ticks. It has a very desirable safety profile, with no restrictions on number of applications or applications to children. This year sees the commercial launch of this material as a topical insect repellent product, under the brand name nipt! This presentation will introduce the Entomol process for production of HCO, together with a summary of efficacy results.
