Endowed Professor in Urban Entomology University of Florida Gainesville, Florida
Urban pest management is a unique component of the larger pest management universe. What makes urban pest management unique is that pest managers must consider a range of biotic, abiotic and socio-economic factors when designing and delivering control programs. On the biotic side, safely and effectively targeting urban pests requires detailed knowledge of pest basic, or “sub-organismal” biology. This presentation will focus on recent trends and advances in urban pest research that can improve our ability to target urban pests in both chemical and integrated (IPM) programs.
