A native snail, Mesodon clausus, was observed in 2022 and 2023 feeding on soybeans and corn. In soybeans the snail reduced plant densities and devoured many areas of the field. Replanting was conducted after application of metaldehyde baits. Additional information is presented on some aspects of the biology, phenology, and management of this new emergent pest.
