For many students, entomology as a college major, minor, or potential career path is often not realized until they enroll in their first entomology course or engage in an entomology related internship or research experience. This talk will take an analytical look at historical data from an entomology department to identify the academic path that students have taken to pursue a major or minor in entomology. It will also discuss the entomology related courses that these students completed leading up to their change of major into entomology or addition of an entomology minor. This talk will also focus on a formalized internship and research program geared towards undergraduate experiences related to entomology.
