Biotechnological technologies, such as RNAi and CRISPR gene editing, are considered great promises to reduce the billionaire losses that occur every year in agriculture worldwide. In this talk, I will present the current state of research and development on RNAi technology as a highly specific and environment-friendly bio insecticide and highlight the main challenges yet to be overcome.
