GreenLight Biosciences has developed the first sprayable dsRNA pesticide targeting Colorado Potato Beetle (CPB): Calantha. This is a novel bio-insecticide powered by a new technology and mode of action - dsRNA active ingredient is Ledprona. Field trials have shown that Calantha is able to manage CPB similar to existing chemical-based treatments and will be cost competitive with other premium solutions. This product has been designed to be compatible with farmers' current standard practices to minimize any additional work for farmers. In addition to the benefits of being a new AI and MOA, Calantha offers minimal handling restrictions for applicators, low to no detectable residues on potatoes, and is non-toxic to beneficials and pollinators that have been tested.
