Scouting and monitoring program for Vermont vegetable and berry growers

Insect pest scouting and monitoring programs play a critical role in the successful implementation of any ecological pest management plan. This poster documents the second year of a participatory-based scouting and monitoring program supporting the Vermont Vegetable and Berry Growers Association.  Here we detail the complete implementation of the program from the initial farmer surveys and participatory meetings to the final evaluation surveys. The success of the program underscores the importance of participatory methods for creating locally relevant information for small-scale vegetable and berry growers.
