A complex of stink bug species routinely cause more economic losses and receive more insecticide applications in soybean than all other pests. Annual professional estimates were made in many states with substantial soybean production between 2017-2022. From these estimates the distributions of individual stink bug species and intensity of losses and management required was compiled for four regions of the U.S. The North-Central region grows the most soybeans, but has the least costs from stink bugs. The impact of stink bugs was similar across the three southern regions, but the species complex varied between these regions. Brown marmorated stink bug was prominent in the north-Central region and slowly increased over time in the South-East and Mid-South regions. Southern green and redbanded stink bugs were only reported in the southern regions, while brown and green stink bugs were commonly reported in all four regions.
