USDA-APHIS-PPQ Emergency and Domestic Programs created a new program titled Offshore Pest Preparedness. This formal program focuses on pest readiness by reducing the time when APHIS becomes aware of and responds to a pest threat, using the various approaches, tools, and policies under APHIS’ purview. The important new program is meant to bridge gaps and has already proven to be an effective tool in the effort to protect American agriculture and natural resources.
