D3351: Polypore fungus beetles (Coleoptera: Tetratomidae) of South Carolina

The Polypore Fungus Beetles, family Tetratomidae, are represented by 10 genera and 29 species in North American north of Mexico. Tetratomids are generally associated with fungi and rarely of economic significance, however some have been reported as pests of cultivated mushrooms. In total, 12 species have been reported from South Carolina in the literature. However, some may be in error. All Tetratomid specimens in the Clemson University Arthropod Museum were identified, and additional specimens were sorted from bycatch. An updated species list and distributional data for Tetratomidae in South Carolina are presented.
