D3395: Global mosquito observations dashboard (GMOD): A centralized repository for community-based mosquito habitat and vector observations

Community-based mosquito surveillance and mitigation programs are proven and cost-effective approaches to the control and spread of mosquito-borne diseases. The Global Mosquito Observations Dashboard (GMOD) is a free, public platform that provides open access to global mosquito surveillance data obtained through three internationally operating citizen science programs: NASA GLOBE Observer, Mosquito Alert, and iNaturalist. Aligned to Open Geospatial Consortium standards, data submitted by citizen scientists from these three projects are interoperable and can be analyzed together to identify regional and global patterns at desired spatial and temporal scales. GMOD serves as a centralized repository of community-based mosquito habitat and disease vector data and is extensible, to accommodate other data collection tools and mosquito citizen science initiatives.
